The Cluster Digital has presented a total of 9 innovation projects in the 2026 call for grants for Innovative Business Groups (AEI) of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. Of these, 4 are led by the Cluster itself, reinforcing its leadership in the promotion of R+D+i projects.
The Cluster Digital has participated, once again, in the call for aid to AEI (Innovative Business Groups) launched by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, with the aim of promoting high-impact innovative and technological initiatives.
To access these subsidies, being part of a cluster recognized as an AEI is an essential requirement. For this reason, last year the Cluster Digital renewed its registration in the register of AEIs, a recognition that allows the entity to continue accessing support and financing programs to promote innovation and business development projects, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises.
A portfolio of projects to promote business innovation
In this year's call, the Cluster Digital has opted for a total of 9 innovation projects. 4 of these are led by the entity, while 5 participate as a partner.
The initiatives presented address some of the main challenges of today's industry through the application of advanced digital technologies. They focus on areas such as generative artificial intelligence applied to industrial knowledge management, the digitization of buildings to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality, the preservation and transfer of expert knowledge through audiovisual technologies and multimodal AI, as well as the development of new smart solutions to optimize supply chain management.
This portfolio of projects fully reflects the strategic approach of the Cluster Digital to promote the digital transformation of the industry through collaboration between companies, knowledge centers and other clusters. Through enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), digital twins, advanced data analytics and intelligent decision support systems, the Cluster continues to promote R+D+i initiatives that contribute to strengthening the competitiveness, sustainability and technological autonomy of the Catalan business fabric.
A collaboration network at the service of innovation.
With its participation in this year's call, the Cluster Digital has mobilised a budget of €1,034,085.57 and an expected subsidy of €775,749.90, which will make it possible to promote new collaborative R+D+i projects aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of the business fabric.
The nine projects have been developed in collaboration with several reference clusters, including the Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia (CEEC), the Packaging Cluster, the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, the Household and Contract Equipment Cluster (AMBIT), the Automotive Industry Cluster of Catalonia (CIAC), the Fashion Cluster (MODACC) and the Aragonese Automotive Cluster (CAAR), reinforcing intercluster cooperation as a driving force to generate high-impact initiatives.
12 companies associated with the Cluster Digital participate in the proposals: Lobelia, Ebantic, Watchity, Dribia, Cactus IoT, ICIL, Vitum, BlueRoom, C+A, CYP and Aquiles Solutions. In addition, the consortia incorporate 8 start-ups, which highlights the commitment to combining the experience of consolidated companies with the innovative potential of startups.
These data, as well as the results of previous calls, show the experience of the Cluster Digital in the promotion of collaborative projects and in attracting competitive funding. As an Innovative Business Group (AEI), it acts as a connector between companies, startups, knowledge centres and other clusters to set up solid consortia, aligned with the objectives of the national calls and aimed at generating a real impact on the competitiveness of the industry.
With this new participation, the Cluster Digital consolidates its role as a benchmark in the promotion of R+D+i projects, facilitating collaboration between companies, startups, knowledge centres and other clusters to promote innovation and competitiveness in Catalan industry.
